Campsite Tim & Kim Village is a campsite of over three hectares just outside the village of Gorgora in northern Ethiopia. The campsite is situated in a quiet spot in the middle of the countryside on the banks of Lake Tana. A paradise for bird spotters, fishermen and everyone who is looking to relax after a long trip. Overland travellers and camping with your own tent We offer spacious stands by the lake where you can park any overland vehicle. If you have your own tent, please pick a stand on the site or rent one with a reed-covered shelter with your own terrace and a view across Tana Lake. Tents sleep one or two persons. Rent fully equipped tents We rent out fully equipped tents that sleep two persons. They include a mattress, sheets, pillows and blankets. They are located on fixed stands and have a reed-covered shelter and a terrace with a view across Lake Tana. Rent lodges From mid-2011 seven lodges that sleep two persons will be for rent. The lodges have their own shower and toilet and a terrace with garden furniture and a view across the lake. Toilet and showers The campsite has two ablution blocks with simple, solar-heated showers and clean toilets.  Electricity Electricity is generated by solar panels and is limited. Charging your laptop, camera or telephone is no problem. Internet/ mobile telephone signal We do not yet have internet, but mobile telephones (usually) pick up a signal. Security The campsite is guarded 24 hours a day.  Bar/restaurant Our restaurant is located in the middle of the campsite and you are most welcome to drop by for a drink and a bite to eat. We serve local and imported drinks and three meals a day. If you would like to have lunch and/or dinner, please tell us beforehand (at breakfast at the latest) to give us time to make preparations. In consultation with our guests we serve a daily menu for dinner that depends on the availability of (market) produce. Upon request we can organise a barbecue for groups (of eight persons or more). Mealtimes Breakfast: from 7:30am onwards. Lunch: 12pm – 2:30pm, as required. Dinner: from 6:30pm onwards, as required. DIY cooking We can provide guests who prefer to cook their own meals with bread, eggs and other products (depending on availability). Please do not hesitate to ask us. Laundry We provide a laundry service. Special requirements If you have special requirements, please let us know. We may just be able to help. If you did not bring a mattress or pillow, no problem, we stock them.
